歷來最大手筆　蘋果砸612億建歐洲資料中心

蘋果（Apple）宣布將投資17億歐元（612億台幣）在歐洲興建2座資料中心，預計2017年啟用，為蘋果歷來歐洲最大手筆投資。
 
蘋果表示，2座資料中心分別位在愛爾蘭葛威郡的阿薩瑞、丹麥中日德蘭大區的維堡，佔地各16.6萬平方公尺，在全球數一數二，全部使用再生能源供電，預計可創造數百個工作機會。
 
此舉不僅因應歐洲當局就近存放歐洲用戶資料要求，也可藉由歐洲寒冷天候節省設備冷卻費用。完工後將服務歐洲用戶，提供iTunes Store、App Store、iMessage、Maps及Siri等線上服務。

Google早在2011年已設置芬蘭資料中心，去年9月宣布計劃在荷蘭再增設1座；facebook瑞典資料中心則在2013年啟用。（陳智偉／綜合外電報導）
