世界衛生組織表示，爆發伊波拉疫情的西非三國，疑似與可能病例達到1萬9031例，死亡病例增加到7373例，和世衛組織12日公布、累計至10日的數據相比，1週來新增病例達到843例，其中死亡病例增加高達790例，顯示疫情仍未獲得完全控制。

獅子山的病例數在3國中最多，達8759起，多過賴比瑞亞的7819起；但獅子山的病亡人數為2477名，遠少於賴比瑞亞的3346名，使得某些專家懷疑獅子山當局所通報數據的可信度。

另外，英國及加拿大派出現役及後備役士兵，到西非獅子山，協助對抗伊波拉疫情。其中英國共派出超過百人，將會在當地一個醫療設施，向染病的醫護人員提供治療。英國目前有約8百名士兵在獅子山興建醫療設施，預計提供七百張病床，醫治伊波拉患者。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
