礙於駭客威脅，索尼影業宣布取消原定聖誕檔期上映，以刺殺北韓領導人金正恩為題的《名嘴出任務》（The Interview），消息釋出後，美聯社報導指駭客寄出一封電子信給索尼，稱讚他們做了個明智的決定。

信中表示只要索尼不再製造麻煩，索尼的機密檔案就會很安全，並威脅永遠不得以任何形式播出《名嘴出任務》，包括發行DVD等。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
