北市張姓男子不滿周姓鄰居2012年1月間，在公寓樓梯間和頂樓共裝設9支監視器，張男認為隱私權受侵犯，提告求償21萬5300元，並要求周姓鄰居拆除所有監視器，但周姓鄰居澄清，他其實是裝假的監視器防止小偷，法院因此判決張男敗訴。
 
張男受訪表示：「我還要上訴，他（周姓鄰居）裝的監視器明明就在錄影，紅外線光都看得到，怎麼可能沒在錄」，張男認為，鄰居在勘驗時將主機螢幕拆掉，規避鑑定。
 
判決指出，58歲的張男居住在公寓4樓，周姓鄰居住5樓，張男指控，公寓樓梯屬於住戶私領域範圍，但周姓鄰居卻裝設9支監視器，他連走上頂樓運動都被拍下來，讓他十分不舒服，才會提告要求拆除監視器並要求賠償精神撫慰金。
 
周姓鄰居出庭時苦笑稱「那是假的」，他表示，其他住戶均同意安裝監視器防小偷，僅張男不願意，才會改裝設9隻「空殼」監視器，實際上無法錄影。
 
法院囑託電器商業同業公會鑑定，發現公寓的監視器不是沒接電源線，就是鏡頭壞了，且均未連接主機螢幕，並未達到監視作用，認為並無侵犯張男隱私，判決張男敗訴，全案可上訴。（法庭中心／台北報導）
