加州2縣鬧分離　建立第51州

據美聯社28日報導，美國加州北部兩個縣的代表當日向加州官員遞交請願書，要求從加州脫離，欲建立美國第51個州「傑弗遜州」(the State of Jefferson)。據報導，上述代表來自靠近俄勒岡州的莫多克和錫斯基尤兩個縣，兩縣約有5.3萬人口。

這次請願活動的組織者馬克貝爾德稱，只要有10個縣願意分離出去就可以重新建州。截止目前，已有6個縣支持該計畫。美聯社報導稱，這兩個縣建州的第一步是要制定自己的法律。請願活動的支持者表示，美國憲法允許行政區向政府請願以請求脫離。如果立法者無視此次請願活動的話，他們將會制定自己的法律。但也有批評人士指出，那些低稅收、人口少的行政區沒有能力承擔諸如學校建設和公路建設等大型項目。 　　

這已不是加州的第一起分離事件。美聯社報導稱，此前矽谷風險投資家提姆德雷珀曾提出將加州分為6個獨立的州，並為此發起請願簽名活動。如果能得到足夠多的有效簽名支持的話，該申請將有可能會在2016年進行全國公投。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
