曾經是2010年洋基農場評比第1名的新秀，Jesus Montero經過交易來到水手反而迅速沒落，還因為藥檢未過被禁賽50場，現在水手再次把Montero升上大聯盟。

水手把外野手Michael Saunders放進15天傷兵名單，空出來的位置，他們選擇拉上本季從3A出發的Montero。

從備受期待變成現在的不期不待，很多人甚至都忘記了Montero的存在，水手總教練Lloyd McClendon說：「我認為他正試著重返正軌，Montero很努力，打擊方面的表現也確實不錯。」

Montero本季在3A出賽59場，打擊三圍0.270/0.345/0.455(打擊率/上壘率/長打率)，有8支全壘打40分打點。

McClendon表示，「對我來說，拉上Montero是符合邏輯的選擇，給年輕人機會也相當合理。」

Montero是2010年洋基農場評比第1名，經由Michael Pineda的交易案互換東家，2013年因為藥檢未通過被罰禁賽50場。

本季從3A出發的Montero說：「(升上大聯盟)就像是我自己爭取到的，我感覺很棒，現在，我想要永遠留在那裡。」
