雖然兩球都由巴西踢進，不過上半場結束與克羅埃西亞戰成1：1平手，在烏龍球造成落後下，巴西由球隊靈魂人物Neymar進球扳平。

2014年世界盃足球賽台北時間13日凌晨4點在巴西聖保羅哥林多人球場舉行開幕戰，由地主巴西出戰克羅埃西亞，上半場戰畢兩隊戰成平手。

開賽第10分鐘，克羅埃西亞逼進巴西禁區，Ivica Olic一記傳中球，隊友沒有接應成功，不過Marcelo 在門前解圍失誤，造成巴西1：0落後。

而Neymar第29分鐘替一次遠射替巴西扳平戰局，之後雙方攻勢再無建樹，上半場結束以1：1平手。
