爵士隊任命前老鷹助教Quin Snyder為新任教頭，成為隊史第8位總教練。雙方簽下3季合約，球團擁有第4季選擇權。

「能有機會加入爵士，成為這支受人尊敬、有著大好未來隊伍的一員，相當榮耀，」Snyder說，「我帶著感激、謙遜，接下這個機會，也會奉獻一切，幫助爵士成為奪冠隊伍。」

Snyder執教經驗豐富，但這是他第一次擔任NBA總教練，先前曾在快艇、76人、湖人、老鷹、還有莫斯科中央陸軍等隊擔任助教。他也曾擔任總教練，執教密蘇里大學、馬刺發展聯盟隊伍。

新官Snyder上任，可能會找昔日長官、歐洲傳奇教頭Ettore Messina，加入教練團。Messina執教莫斯科中央陸軍隊時，Snyder是助理教練。

爵士隊前任教頭Tyrone Corbin，在位3季，戰績112勝146敗。再往前一任教頭，則是「教皇」Jerry Sloan，執教爵士長達23年，卻在2010年2月辭職，才由Corbin接手。
