（中央社華盛頓31日綜合外電報導）美國總統歐巴馬今天宣布，在阿富汗境內遭塔利班（Taliban）俘虜囚禁將近5年的1名美軍已獲釋。

歐巴馬發表聲明說：「美國人民今天深感高興，因為我們將能歡迎遭囚禁將近5年的伯格達爾（BoweBergdahl）中士返鄉。」

歐巴馬又說：「我很榮幸能代表美國人民打電話給他的父母，表達我們對他們能期待兒子平安歸鄉的欣慰，並感佩他們於兒子遭逢劫難期間所展現的勇氣與犧牲。」

歐巴馬在聲明中對卡達元首表達「深切謝意」，感謝「他協助確保我們的士兵歸來」。

聲明指出，「卡達元首親自介入這項努力，是兩國夥伴關係的明證。」

歐巴馬還說：「救回伯格達爾中士，凸顯美國的堅定不移承諾，也就是我們絕不會在戰場上遺棄任何一位男女軍人。」

自2009年被俘虜以來，伯格達爾曾多次出現在塔利班的錄影聲明中。(中央社)
