【動新聞】汽車之都破產　底特律淪鬼城

【動新聞／綜合報導】昔日的「汽車之都」底特律確定破產！美國聯邦法官洛茲（Steven Rhodes）昨天裁定，底特律破產已是「既成事實」。
 
底特律過去有「汽車之都」的美名。但從2008年之後，底特律市政府每年的負債都超過1億美元，如今卻有15萬間閒置建築、超過40%的路燈不亮，人口也從1950年代180萬人減少為目前的70萬人左右，被外界稱做「廢城」。
 
而底特律破產之後，首當其衝的，將是借錢給底特律的債權人以及市政債券投資者，借款將拿不回來；而公務人員等退休人士的醫療福利金、退休金也可能遭凍結或削減，但警務與消防將如常運作，民眾日常生活將不會有太大變化，但由市政府提供的健康保險也可能終止。
 
但底特律市府官員表示，希望能在２０１４年底之前擺脫破產保護，逐漸恢復正常的市政運作。
