日本財務大臣麻生太郎認為，日本也需要匯率干預的政策手段，來對抗外匯市場的投機份子。

根據《路透社》報導，麻生太郎上午出席日本參議院財政金融委員會會議時，即發言表示，日本必須和其他國家一樣預備資金，在必要時干預匯市。

在麻生太郎的發言之後，日經225指數隨即大漲，今日收盤接近 15000 點。日元匯率方面也因而走貶，兌美元接近 100 元關卡，目前報 99.67 元。

日本央行理事雨宮正佳則表示，匯率是傳導貨幣政策的重要渠道，但日本央行並不直接以影響匯率為目標。
