男子遭冤枉性侵少女　自殺身亡

【於慶中／綜合外電報導】英國一名無辜男子被警方錯誤指控，在20年前曾性侵一名女童，雖然警方最後撤銷控罪還他清白，但他仍鬱鬱寡歡，最後跳橋自殺身亡。

56歲的史密斯(Graham Smith)去年11月被警方誤當座犯人之後，情緒崩潰，兩次企圖自殺都沒成功，但今年6月他仍從亨伯橋(Humber Bridge)一躍而下，屍體5天後沖上附近一條河的沙州，屍身已嚴重腐爛。

死因法庭昨(13日)裁定他的死因是自殺，法官形容事件是一場悲劇，因為警方亳無事實根據的指控，賠上了史密斯的性命。

史密斯的女兒形容，爸爸被冤枉後性情大變，不肯外出，總以為街上的人都對他指指點點，只敢晚上夜深人靜時才出門，深怕被別人看到他。就在史密斯自殺前，他出席一家人的父親節晚宴，大家都以為他情況好轉，家人回想起來，才知道他想向眾親人道別。
