【陳培煌╱台北報導】強烈颱風「海燕」本月6日至7日侵襲我太平洋友邦帛琉共和國，造成帛琉全國水、電及下水道系統等基礎設施損壞，4所中小學與大島及科羅州部分民房毀損，北方的卡揚埃爾州災損嚴重，初步估計災損約500萬美元。我駐帛琉共和國大使館已代表我國政府及人民向帛國政府表達慰問與關懷之意，並捐贈10萬美元協助帛國災後重建，加速人民早日重整家園及恢復正常生活。
