體檢如大考　美軍靠抽脂通過

【周佩萱／綜合外電報導】美國軍方為有效控管軍人健康，會定期體檢以刪除過胖軍人，根據美聯社報導，軍人為避免在體檢中被刷掉，不少人在體檢前進行抽脂手術，以快速瘦身通過檢驗。第一次體檢出過胖的軍人，會先被送往軍中減肥營進行瘦身，體檢兩次以上都沒有過的軍人，就會直接被刷掉，因過胖被請出軍隊的人數，2008年還僅約有168人，去年則為1815人。
 
由於體檢結果還會影響未來軍中升遷的機會，不少軍人都希望測出最佳體能結果，一名不願具名的軍中人士就表示，長官們都知道下屬利用抽脂手術通過體檢，因為有些人只是過胖，但健康和體能完全沒有問題，醫生也表示不是體型龐大就不健康。
 
有鑑於此軍方也開始改變肥胖檢驗方式，傳統都是使用量尺測量脖圍腰圍和臀圍，對照身高體重標準值，簡單又快速，但卻往往不夠精準，空軍近來則已改用BMI值測量。
