白宮今天表示，美國若對敘利亞使用化學武器的事件作出任何回應，範圍將有限度，不能與美國領軍入侵伊拉克的戰爭比擬。

白宮發言人厄尼思特（Josh Earnest）重申，美國究竟將作何回應，總統歐巴馬將依據國家安全利益作決定。他也提及英國政府高級官員的談話說，美方可能自行作出外交政策決定。
