智慧型手機市場持續擴大，國際研究機構顧能統計今年第二季手機銷量，智慧型手機首次贏過功能手機，總數突破2.2億支，成長4成6以上，各個手機大廠拚買氣，下半年開始明顯著重「外型」，手機顏色不再只有常見的黑白紅，綠色、藍色紛紛登場，Moto手機甚至打客製化選色，超過500種搭配。

智慧型手機推陳出新，今年全球銷量首次打敗功能手機，國際研究公司統計，智慧型手機第二季全球賣出2.25億支，比去年大增46.5%，功能手機2.1億支反而比去年下滑21%，智慧型手機在亞太地區成長最多，主要原因就是中低價格帶動市場，但功能大同小異下，新產品外型開始突破。

手機越來越繽紛，Google新手機Moto X，從背殼到正面甚至側面按鈕和鏡頭，都可以自選顏色，超過504種搭配，第四季還要再推木紋背殼搶個人化市場。

hTC new One今年8月也在美國傳出將推天藍色款，引發話題，平價版iPhone 5C也傳出至少有5種色系。

民眾：「外型不好看，你也不會想買，功能上就是使用順手就可以。」

民眾：「常常用的手機也要好看，用起來才會心情比較好。」

畢竟手機，顯示的是個人品味，讓業者拚功能外，外型也開始同樣看重。
