美研究：口腔細菌竟是腸癌元凶

【綜合報導】美國科學家發現，口腔內的細菌是導致腸癌的元凶之一。

哈佛大學醫學院研究指出，大腸腫瘤中存在大量於人類口腔內常見的梭桿菌（Fusobacterium），而且非常活躍。透過老鼠做實驗，發現梭桿菌會加快腸腫瘤的形成。

美國凱斯西儲大學（Case Western Reserve University）的研究則指出，梭桿菌表面有名為FadA的分子，使它能依附及入侵腸癌細胞。當細菌進入癌細胞後，FadA分子就會啟動癌生長的基因開關，刺激炎症反應，加速腫瘤形成。

但研究人員同時發現一種阻擋FadA分子的人工合成化合物，能夠停止有關的腫瘤生長連鎖反應，意味有可能用來預防腸癌。
