【綜合報導】曾為美國第四大城，同時也是知名汽車製造城市底特律，18日向聯邦法院申請破產，這宗破產申請案是目前為止美國歷史上最大的市政府破產案。
 
底特律市緊急狀態管理人歐爾（Kevyn Orr）早在6月15日的緊急會議上已表明，如果與債權人和工會代表的談判陷入僵局，他將會迅速向聯邦政府尋求破產保護。
 
底特律目前有185億美元（約5600億元台幣）的債務，92億美元（約2800億元台幣）的養老金缺口和醫療負債。底特律的人口數也從1950年的1千8百萬人，銳減成現在不到70萬人。另外，根據美國人口普查資料的顯示，大約三分之一的底特律居民生活在貧困線以下，人均收入只有美國全國平均水準的一半。

【綜合報導】陸軍下士洪仲丘冤死案，禁閉室關鍵畫面人間蒸發，調查局昨證實，7月1日消失的80分鐘洪仲丘操練畫面，已全部復原成功，也由專人將錄影畫面及鑑驗報告送交軍檢。至於復原的影像對偵辦是否有幫助？調查局說，偵查不公開，而軍檢昨也三緘其口。

軍高檢昨持續傳訊戒護士陳毅勳，根據軍方調查指出，洪仲丘曾反映「訓練過重，體力無法負荷」，但陳毅勳仍要求持續操作並且不給他水喝，軍高檢昨以涉犯《陸海空軍刑法》「凌虐部屬致死罪」等罪嫌重大且所犯為最輕本刑5年以上有期徒刑之重罪，向軍事法院聲請羈押獲准。

【綜合報導】美國國務卿凱瑞結束4天訪約旦行，在最後一天的演說上，凱瑞發出出人意表的通告，表示以色列和巴勒斯坦會談停滯3年多後，有機會重啟對談，雙方將可能在華府會面，由他親自主持會談。

凱瑞花了數個月和雙方協商，終於達成共識，初步計畫第一輪參與會談的將是以色列的司法部長里夫尼(Tzipi Livni)和巴勒斯坦的協商首領艾瑞卡特(Saeb Erekat)。

不過凱瑞也小心翼翼表示，以巴會談僅是達成初步共識，中間還需要許多外交工作，才能確保會談能成功舉行。
