【綜合報導】美國宣布因安全考量，這周日將關閉全球數個美國大使館，暫停使館業務。
 
國務院發言人馬利葉哈夫(Marie Harf)周四宣佈這個決定，表示這是提前做好準備，但並未透露受到什麼威脅，也沒有講明將關閉哪些地方的使館，只表示將評估未來狀況，再決定何時重啟大使館。

【王勇超、吳柏源／高雄報導】一對論及婚嫁的男女，今天下午開車前往高市大社區一處一貫道道場參加活動，在路口左轉時遭一輛綠燈直行的貨車撞上，車體當場翻滾兩圈，先後撞上路邊電線桿再撞翻一旁工廠的鐵門，車身嚴重變形扭曲，警消破壞車體將受困車內的兩人救出，但送醫途中已無呼吸心跳。

警方調查，死者侯基祥、李妙菱（均35歲）兩人是男女朋友，兩人原本預定八月中旬訂婚，今天下午，侯基祥駕駛一輛銀色三菱LANCER轎車，載李女到大社區參加一貫道活動，侯男駕車由大社區和平路要左轉中華路14巷時，未依規定先開進左轉專用道，直接在交叉路口左轉，結果遭葉青騰（43歲）駕駛的直行貨車撞上。

小客車被撞翻滾後嚴重扭曲變形，侯、李兩人受困車內，警消先移開車門拖出侯男，再鋸開車頂救出李女，兩人送醫時已無生命跡象，抽血都無酒精反應。但警方另對小貨車駕駛葉青騰進行酒測，發現酒測值達零點六五毫克，當場將他逮回大社派出所，將依公共危險罪嫌送辦。

【綜合報導】昨天台灣25萬民眾，為了洪仲丘案身著白衫上凱道抗議，新加坡網友說，佩服台灣人為了陌生人上街追求正義，並說台灣是個有人性的社會。
 
根據「中央社」報導，新加坡「海峽時報」（Straits Times）與「亞洲新聞台」（Channel News Asia）、「聯合早報」都刊登相關訊息，引起新加坡網友熱烈討論。
 
「My New Life in Asia」在「海峽時報」臉書說，「因為台灣人活在一個自由的國家，如果人民揭發不公不義，不必害怕被槍斃或要坐牢。」
 
「Stephen」在「雅虎新加坡」網頁說，新加坡也曾有幾個孩子在服兵役時死亡，但是大家只能接受，台灣是國防部長下台，總統道歉，軍官被起訴，「台灣還是1個比較有人性的社會」。
 
「Ahkow」說，這顯示台灣嚴肅看待義務役，新加坡有很多地方該跟台灣學習。
 
「Alvin」說，「台灣人願意為了1個不認識的陌生人上街，令人佩服！」
 
「XiangLong」說，這讓他想起去年1個義務役士兵李瑞峰死於手榴彈訓練的新聞，差別在於新加坡人不能上街抗議，但是台灣人可以，台灣人想要正義也得到了，「新加坡何時能看到真正的正義？」
