【陳世河／台中報導】30歲劉姓男子因女友欲和他分手避不見面，今天上午再度前往女友住處欲挽回，女友仍拒不見面，劉男萬念俱灰，爬前往國豐路三段縱貫鐵路橋欲臥軌輕生，火車司機經過看見有人在軌道行走立刻報警。

警方趕抵現場，劉男查覺後立刻爬上護欄作勢欲往下跳，警見狀兵分兩路，一人在橋下和劉姓男子對話安撫情緒，一人上到鐵路橋由後方悄悄接近，最後橋上警員趁 他和橋下人員對話不注意時，一把將他從護欄上拉下，解除危機。劉姓男子被拉下護欄後，情緒激動不斷高喊：「我只是要自殺而已，又沒犯法！」警方隨即將他強 制送醫。

【陳方瑩／南投報導】通往南投仁愛鄉發祥、力行以及翠華等三村的投89線力行道路，逢連續大雨就多段崩塌導致交通中斷，雖然潭美颱風已遠離，至今仍未搶通，居民只能繞遠道從梨山，或從慈峰農路出入。慈峰道路狹窄、陡峭又崎嶇，僅四輪傳動車輛勉強能通行，昨晚發生不幸翻車意外，造成曾姓民眾一家三口一死二傷。
 
民眾摩洛桑說，慈峰農路只有一個車身寬，很陡又彎來彎去，也不好會車，這個季節幾乎每天午後山區都會下雨，路面泥濘濕滑，爬坡路段連四輪傳動車輛都很吃力，加上山區濃霧、駕駛不當或機械故障，一不小心就容易出事！居民不管是外出還是回家，都要搏命上路，這種痛苦的心情，不是住在平地­的民眾可以理解的。
 
南投縣議員陳國雄指出，到今天還有三處缺口未搶通，土石已清除的路段也未鋪設砂石，路面泥濘不堪、坎坷難行，痛批搶災廠商：「都出人命了，還不積極！」
