台北市教育局政風室主任劉禮湘28日下午，被發現陳屍在自家住處，而且已經死亡一段時間，初步排除自殺或他殺，至於確切死因還要進一步調查。

根據《中央社》報導，劉禮湘與妻子、兒子同住，但對近幾天妻子與兒子剛好出國，到美國參加夏令營。劉禮湘從這個月25日就未到教育局上班，也沒有請假，教育局政風室同仁打電話都連絡不到人。

同仁打電話通知劉禮湘的家屬，並請警消破門而入，才發現劉禮湘已經死亡多時。29日進行相驗，初步排除自殺與他殺，死亡原因還有待調查。
